Spread our Culture; Be Selfless

My culture is known for sharing and loving. We don’t eat alone on single plates of food with forks and knives. We eat on big platters with our hands, feeding 5-6 people at a time. We converse and are family oriented. We take care of our little brothers and sisters so they can be as successful as ourselves. Everyday we wake up, we build ourselves to better the people around us.

We are selfless.
We are selfless.
We are selfless.

We must share our culture with the new generation of Ethiopians that are slowly being distanced away from their culture and must accept new foreigners who are interested in our ways. We must promote our culture with all of our might and be proud that we were born into such a beautiful and loving culture.

In order to promote our culture we must fully engage in our culture once again. It starts from the home, so parents I encourage you to not give up and that your efforts are commended and supported by the whole community. Keep feeding our children our beautiful tasting dishes, keep clothing them in our beautiful traditional wear, keep them educated on our amazing history, keep them religious, teach them our language, and keep them active in the community so that one day they can teach their children our culture as well. Don’t let us fade away from our beautiful ancestry through the migrations our people have made over the years. Remain a humble Ethiopian and change the lives of the people around you just by being a truthful Ethiopian who is selfless and accepting. Be a strong example to all of humanity.

Long live Ethiopia
Your Anbessa,
