Salome Autolino is an International Ethiopian model, host, and stylist . Most us may be new to her work but she has been doing an extensive body of work. In the past, Salome modeled on international fashion shows , was featured on fashion magazines , designed fashion collections and 
recently debuted her fragrance for men. What is really significant about her story is her enthusiasm to dream big and her commitment to make each of her big dreams a reality.
As Salome shared her story with me, she started her career in Ethiopia, where she became fascinated in Fashion, Hair and Makeup at an early age. Eventually at age 15, she was able to start a modeling career for Hair and Bridal Fashion Shows in Addis Ababa. By age 17, she embarked on a journey to Europe where she studied Fashion Merchandising at Istituto Marangoni, a fashion design school in Milan. There, her enthusiasm and distinctive characters helped her to secure a career as a runway model for international designers such as Roberto Cavalli in various cities of Europe.
For the last several years , Salome made U.S. her new home and is residing in VA Beach. In collaboration with various project partners including Tim Reid Productions, she continues to showcase her Italian, African, Ethiopian and American styles.
This year , she has been working enthusiastically to exhibit her Ethiopian traditions on major shows by creating a fashion collection that is made in Ethiopia. Salome is a social entrepreneur and believes in the importance of collaborating with Ethiopian women who specialize in traditional fabric making to bring authentic designs to the international fashion market. According to Salome, the women she collaborates with are very talented and all they need is an opportunity to showcase their creative work to the rest of the world.
In the last months, she has been back to U.S. and participating in prominent fashion shows including New York Fashion Week , VA Fashion Week and “Top of The Mile” at the African Center in New York where more than 5,000 Art enthusiasts attended the event and showed her much love and support .
Lately talented Ethiopian Fashion designers such as the Yohannes Sisters are making great progress in the international fashion scene. In the same way , Salome and her team are also contributing in a big way to create awareness about Ethiopian Fashion Trends.
